OUR HISTORY
Since 1911, the Gateway Chamber of Commerce has been dedicated to advocate for businesses in Union, Essex, Middlesex, and Somerset counties. Over the years, the Chamber has operated under different identities – as the Elizabeth Chamber of Commerce, Eastern Union County Chamber of Commerce, and union County Chamber of Commerce. However, with the 2005 merger with the Central Jersey Chamber, the Gateway Regional Chamber of Commerce was born, solidifying its deep-rooter presence in Northern and Central new Jersey’s business landscape.
Today, simply known as the Gateway Chamber, we champion growth and collaboration across a wide array of industries, with a membership that ranges from Fortune 500 companies to dynamic small businesses. This diversity fosters rich networking opportunities, the exchange of expertise, and strong partnerships that reflect the region’s evolving economic landscape.
At Gateway Chamber, our mission is to deliver unparalleled opportunities for members to connect, grow their businesses, and forge strategic partnerships. With over 100 annual events, including networking sessions, educational seminars, and community outreach programs, we provide a platform for meaningful engagement. Our expansive network also enables members to save on business services while we advocate for policies that drive both local and regional economic growth.
